Emmerdale legend charges fans £25 in announcement after leaving ITV soap

Samantha Giles shared some exciting news on social media today (January 21). The former Emmerdale actress revealed she is offering fans a chance to receive personalised videos in a new move.
The Bernice Blackstock actress, who quit the ITV soap in 2023, told her followers on X that they could receive birthday messages and tarot readings for a small fee, starting from £24.60 and upwards.
The 53-year-old tweeted: “I have just joined Cameo for personal messages or individual angel/tarot card chosen for you or a friend. Take a look.”
In an introductory video, Samantha began: “Hi, I’ve just joined Cameo. Do message me if you would like a little angel card reading where I pick out one card for you or I pick out one tarot card for you.
“I can also do birthday messages or little pep talks, advice, whatever you want. Just let me know. Thank you. Bye.”
Samantha joins a long list of A-list celebrities offering personalised messages to fans including John Cleese, Miriam Margolyes and even Nigel Farage.
The soap star announced her departure from Emmerdale on This Morning while chatting to presenters Alison Hammond Dermot O’Leary.
The actor first joined Emmerdale as Bernice in 1998, playing a barmaid in The Woolpack, before fleeing the village in 2002 after catching her first husband in bed with another man.
She briefly returned in 2004, before a more permanent return to the Dales in 2012, where she has stayed until now. But she had previously revealed she doesn’t think she will stay on Emmerdale forever.
Back in 2016, she said: “I’m really enjoying it at the moment. I don’t think I’m the sort of person who can stay in the one role for donkey’s years – not that there’s anything wrong with that.
“It’s just that I get very itchy feet, so I would like to do other work at some point in the future. But I have a young family, and I don’t like to be away from them for long periods of time, so it’s a nice balance. I realise I’m very lucky. Emmerdale is a lovely place to be.”
Away from the dales, Samantha has been in a relationship with her husband and production manager, Sean Pritchard.
