Priyanka Chopra is in Mumbai with her husband Nick Jonas and daughter, Malti Marie, to attend her brother Siddharth Chopra‘s wedding. She also shared a personal memory about her father, revealing that he never encouraged her to cook. He wanted her to avoid the traditional roles where women cooked while men ate.
In a chat with Harper’s Bazaar, Priyanka shared that while she enjoys eating, she doesn’t find herself being very helpful in the kitchen. She mentioned feeling intimidated by cooking and revealed that her father never encouraged her to learn, as he didn’t want her to follow the traditional gender roles where women cook while men eat.

The actress further mentioned that growing up in India, her father observed the traditional roles where women cooked while men ate. This led him to ensure that she would not follow this pattern, as he didn’t want her to feel obligated to cook. He discouraged her from learning how to cook for that reason.

As the daughter of an army couple, Priyanka Chopra often moved homes, which her father turned into a positive experience. He encouraged her to view each new place as a chance to reinvent herself, a perspective that has had a lasting impact on her.

Priyanka also recalled how her father, Ashok Chopra, was always her biggest supporter. He attended every award show with her, celebrating her achievements as if they were his own. She fondly remembered having to ask him to calm down at times, as he reveled in her success more than she did. He passed away in 2013 after battling cancer.
Priyanka Chopra is set to star in the much-anticipated film SSMB 29, directed by SS Rajamouli, alongside Mahesh Babu. The two-part saga will take audiences on an epic adventure in the African jungle, marking a new milestone in its genre. This global-scale project is expected to capture hearts worldwide.
On the work front, PeeCee is also preparing for two exciting English action films, The Bluff and Heads of State, which will further expand her international film career. These projects promise to showcase her versatility and keep her at the forefront of global cinema.
