‘Oh no, I’m so sorry for your loss,’ one user wrote.
‘I lost my girl last Saturday. 13 wonderful years with her. Absolutely heartbroken. Our doggos are our babies. So sorry for your loss,’ added another fan.
Another follower simply said: ‘Love to you.’
Matt rose to fame on The Bachelor back in 2019, when he picked Chelsie McLeod over Abbie Chatfield in the final in a bombshell decision.
Abbie was left heartbroken by his choice at the time, but the pair have since formed a close friendship and remain good friends.
Meanwhile, Matt and Chelsie split up not long after the finale and he later confirmed he was dating comedian Gen Fricker, before revealing he was single.
Matt has also become famous for his close friendship with MasterChef Australia star Khanh Ong and they frequently give an insight into their bond on social media.
The pair have been hit with speculation about their friendship time and time again, but have denied they are dating.

Last year, they denied there is anything ‘sexual’ in their bond while speaking on the Feast podcast as they addressed the rumours.
‘It’s the lack of affection straight men show other men that people assume there must be something sexual there,’ Matt said.
‘Everyone should be comfortable enough in their sexuality that they don’t feel uncomfortable showing affection, men or women.
‘There’s that random line in the sand—nah blokes can’t show affection—which is stupid.’
Matt said the pair enjoy sharing a platonic cuddle as they are both single and in need of companionship.
‘Humans are very social creatures. Cuddles and embraces, that releases dopamine and makes you feel good,’ he said.
‘For everyone, women and men, cuddling is important. That physical comfort and being able to feel safe. It’s something inherently human.’
Khanh, who is openly gay, explained how they have been friends for years and provide each other with companionship.

‘The rumours are hilarious because he [Matt] is the straightest cis-gendered male and I am obviously gay. We are friends and we hang out,’ he told Daily Mail Australia in recent years.
‘We provide something to each other that I think we are both missing and that is just companionship.
‘We have dinners, we talk about our careers and what we want to do next, and it’s just a sounding board where there is no judgement and I think that is a really healthy relationship.
‘I think the funniest thing is, is that I could be doing this with a girlfriend and no one could expect me to be dating them.’
